Every family has things that mark it out - their DNA. At GBC we are keen to live out the Mission and Vision we believe God has given us, and we do so by living out our Values, which are central to everything we do.

Only God is worthy of our worship and adoration and while we recognise that worship is a lifestyle, we see a biblical priority in spending time corporately and through song, telling God how much we love and praise Him. When we focus on God he meets with us, changes us and empowers us, but this is a wonderful by-product. Worship is to God, for God and about God.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God for all humankind. Paul (one of the main contributors to the New Testaments) said the bible is 'God breathed' (2 Timothy 3:16), fully inspired by God and therefore without error. It is our sole authority for what we believe and contains everything we need to know about God. We seek to teach the bible in relevant ways for all those in the community, all ages, backgrounds and abilities.

Scripture teaches that God pours out His Holy Spirit to those who believe in Him. We look to move in the ministry of the Holy Spirit so people will see Jesus, fall in love in with him, and have both the passion and the power to proclaim him in word and deed. We believe this is the way forward if we are to be effective witnesses and reach our nation with the gospel, demonstrating God’s love in our words and in our actions.

We are all called to be disciples, followers of Jesus. That calling is not just for a Sunday, but for every day, in every setting. We aim to enable our family to journey through what it looks like to be a disciple with their whole life, within the church, their neighbourhood, the frontline (the workplaces, schools, etc) and the world. This whole-life, missionary discipleship in today’s world is a radical and countercultural way of life, that requires reliance on God. We believe that discipleship, worship, evangelism and justice go hand in hand.

We place high value on community and family. We desire to be one body, encouraging, challenging and loving one another through the journey of life. We aim to make our gatherings accessible to everyone, regardless of age or abilities, valuing fellowship, joy and laughter. We believe that in God’s family we all have a part to play, through different gifts God has given His people. We long to grow the family, and also serve the communities in which we live as a family.
